17 year cicadas are up and althought they say there good to eat im not eating any at the moment, im not that hungry. My question is they say there shells are a good source of nitrogen does that mean if i have the kid and his friends find the shells i can make a buggy dust and spread it on my patch for an extra boost to the plants ?LOL. Sorry if its a dumb question but im just curious.Oh and if your curious there will be tons all over the trees here.

We havent gotten any in the NW burbs yet. I hear its not as bad as the South and Western Suburbs. Too bad, they are fun. Dunno about nitrogen and the shell thing though. Heavy areas are going to see 150-200 cicadas per square yard!!!!

We have tens of thousands of them. It basically rains cicadas over here. I can email some pics if you like. I posted a couple in my diary, but it has to be approved before they will post it. Should be around tomorrow if you are interested.
