I have noticed several linear vine splits. what if anything should i do. the are approximately 4-5" in length. the plant is healthy but could it deteriate over time?

I wouldn't worry too much. I have had lengthwise splits in the past and a couple this year. They don't seem to be much of a problem.

So far so good, minus the splits. of all things, i killed web worms today. i have noticed leaf minors. how goes it in north texas. i am very intersted to see what we texans can do. you know texas... we do it big down here.

Glad to hear that you're having a good season! Splits are a pain, experiencing that here as well, I'm sure due to this rain that just won't stop!
