I just posted a vine problem! Well 2 hrs later we got hit by hail like I've never seen. Pea sized maybe a little bigger. Big enough to shred my plants especially the bigger leafs smaller ones have some holes. Question should I wait awhile before foliar sprays,or continue the schedule as usual.Mother Nature is a ,well never mind!!!!Didn't someone say that what doesn't kill em makes them stronger ?

Now I do have experience with this....clean up all the debri best you can, Wait till the breakage dries out then prune the best you can to recover what is left. Then bury the vines if not already. Leave on the leaves as every little bit helps. Remove any major damage of just leaf stalks. Continue to spray your foliar, I gave mine some extra fish and seaweed cuz LongBeard told me too. They did come back. I had some vines that looked like they were crushed and stepped on. I did end up with a nice pumpkin, check out the coloradopumpkins website archive for pics. Good Luck, and hang in there, your still growing....... Perhaps Tremor will add in here......I would spray some milk as a PM preventor as with the hail came cold with all the lil hail balls tried that tried freeze your plant...........

I got hit a few days ago with hail, larger than pea sized. (Check pics on my diary). I'm told by all that the plants will recover nicely from this. The worst of it was loosing the tip off my main vine with a direct hit. Pumpkins will be marked up, but not lost. I'm just continueing with my normal fertilizing and spraying program.
