I use Ortho garden and disese control and it seems to work great on powdery mildew.

1 cup of milk in one gallon of water. Works great!

I've had good success with Compass fungicide, maybe because I started before PM arrived? I also swear by fish and seaweed foliar applications in keeping uglies in check...good luck! Duff

giant, dude...does mile work as a currative potion, or just as a preventative type of thing?? Thanks for all the help. Peace, Wayne

Curative Wayne. I too use the preventive approach, but fellow growers around here swear by the use of milk.

Pretty early for PM so whatever you do you better jump on it now and continue with a program every couple of weeks.

Agree with Jason. Chlorothalonil will make short work of the PM. Dont use to frequently because PM will develope an immunity. Alternate with Myclobutanil, a systemic, available in Spectracide Immunox.

Good luck. My plants very killed by bad PM last year, but I was a rookie and didnt know what to do. It looked like all the leaves had snow on them. Brutal.

I have noticed some powdery mildew starting on some of my plants already this year. Last year I lost most of my plants to it late in the season. I too was a first year grower and did not know what it was much less how damaging it could be. I sprayed with Ortho spray tonight but was wondering if this will get rid of the disease on the plants that have already started or simply prevent it from spreading? If it will not get rid of it is there anything that I can get that will?

We're using Eagle this year. I took a break from Heritage especially not knowing the pressure (or lack of?) in the new patch.

Chlorothalonil is a contact fungicide so Powdery mildew is very unlikely to ever become resistant to it.

Compass is a great rotating preventive fungicide against PM, but being a strobilurin, should NEVER be used once PM is active. That is how resistance started with strobis in the first place.

Yeah milk mixed at 10% (13 oz per gallon) is a great preventive. Spray leaf undersides once a week.

Armicarb+Oil or even fatty acids like M=Pede immediately destroy PM on contact but weekly sprays forever there after.

Where can you get Armicarb+Oil? Sorry to be so dumb to all this but I am only a second year grower and want this stuff gone before it wipes out my patch like it did last year. Also, can you mix more than one thing together to spray. It is hard to get to the patch to spray every night and I was wondering if you can mix a fungicide, fertilizer, or pest repellant together and spray a couple of one time?
