are seeds in the blossom and/or deformed lobes really a problem? if yes, then why? i have one set that has both of the above mentioned afflictions, and it seems to be doing just fine. Its a little far in for my taste so i was after the next one down the line.....well wouldnt you know it, that one has the same thing going on. so its getting late now and im wondering is this really SO bad?

A deformed lobe eventually meant a flat top on my 1175.5,,that area was only 2-3" thick when the fruit was carved,,i.e. 6% light at the scales

I'm being very selective this year when pollinating.....all in all you have to take what you get though (that "light" was still 1175.5 LOL)

let a deformed female pollinate just to see how it would turn out. when my 5 year old grandson wanted to know whats wrong with this pumpkin? 'looks stupid or something' ..knew it was time to cull a make the first Jack-o-lantern of the season :)
