I was delivering today on my route and as i was walking up to the house i passed by this odd looking flowering plant. I stopped to check it out and i couldn't believe my eyes. there were 5 svb moths located on this plant.I figured i'd save any would be gardeners in the area some heartache so i commenced to smashing them on the driveway. I left the area thinking i had done my good deed for the day!

That is so funny! I can just imagine how you must have looked. Public servants are such an underappreciated bunch! It is not only those hauling children and kitty-cats out of burning homes that are saving heartache! On behalf of the gardeners in your area, I think you. :-)

It would be very interesting to me to know what that plant is. Maybe a good secondary(maybe even primary host) for the borers. Might be good to plant these next to our pumpkins?

I've caught some SVB flying around the flowers of Milkweed...a favorite of Monarch caterpillars...Chris
