No measurable rain for two months, multiple 40 degree nights, and now my chickens got into my patch and pecked at least 6 deep holes in my 1041.5 Mckie. It was my biggest pumpkin and only 13 days old. They didn't go all the way through, but some holes are around the blossum end. Is it worth saving? Will it amount to anything with all the scarring, or should I just cull it and hope the one I pollinated friday keeps? Thanks, Laura K

How are you serving those chickens tonight? fried, baked, grilled!

Sorry to here that, best of luck the rest of the season.

Wash it twice weekly with 5% bleach solution. You'll know soon if it will abort or heal over.

I'll have a few thighs with buffalo sauce - thanks.

Hi Kenny and Thanks Steve, never thought about a bleach wash. Oh at least my B$%%$ing brought a day of steady rain.
