I just picked up some ferti-lome liquid fungicide. It is 12.5% chlorothalonil. The directions say for pumpkins 6 tablespoons per 5-15 gallons of water per 500 sq. ft. That is a pretty big range. Should I go strong concentration? 1.2 tablespoon per gallon of water? I know the "if a little is good, a lot is better" doesn't apply to insecticide. What about fungicide? I should also mention that this is preventative. My plants are not sick right now... I just jinxed it, didn't I?

I use Ortho garden and disease control on a weekly basis. One tablespoon per gallon is all it takes. Its a fine product and Ive even had stumps start to rot on me and I coated the stumps with it and they healed up just fine.

Ortho should be somewhere around 28.5%, so if he is using 12.5%, the neccessary adjustments must be made. Roughly double would be fine.

The 54% I have (6#F) calls for 1 3/8 pints (22 oz) per 100 gals/acre or 6 ml per gallon/500 sq ft - same as 1 Teaspoon/gal.
I also have 29.6% that calls for 1 Tablespoon per gallon/500sf.

If using 12.5% chlorothalonil then 2.4 Tbsp/gal would deliver the same active ingredient if one gallon is applied to 500 sq ft.
