Can anyone identify this one. Little brown and yellow cirlcles on the leaves, they spots look about the same on the underside as the top.

White? If so it looks like powdery mildew to me. Do a search on pm. Good luck

Nope, its not powdery mildew. Maybe I can zoom in on the pic.

My guess is either early downey mildew or septoria. See the Cornell web site by googling "pumpkin leaf diseases" for more of a description of leaf problems.

I posted the zoomed in pic, it should be up before long. I don't think its mildew butI've never had downey mildew, just powdery in the past. Up close the spots kinda look like little spots burnt into the leaf, not something on the leaf.

Leaf Spot has several causal pathogens. I'll post when I remember.

Thanks Steve. We've had alot of rain for this time of year the last couple weeks along with cool daytime highs and cold night time lows. The cool temps probably help it from spreading faster. I noticed tonight that a second plant is starting to show signs of it. I wanted to spray something but wasn't sure what to use. I have Cleary's 3336, Eagle 20EW, Banner Max, Daconil and Serenade. Could you suggest what to use and how much? I really need to learn more about fungicides, what each of their uses are and how to use them this offseason.

Believe it or not, it could be from an afternoon rain. I have noted this condition in the past, created when raindrops pool on a leaf and the sun comes out. Sunshine is magnified by the water and causes the burned spot.

I have given this very same condition a lot of thought over the years without ever asking anyone but finally put two and two together.

Hmmm....interesting. We have had afternoon rains here where the sun has come back out and been strong. A possiblity. If Steve comes back with a suggestion I'm going to spray thursday evening, if its not raining. The only things I've used so far to control fungi on the leaves is Agro-K's VCP, not a fungicide but it has copper in it, and soybean oil.

Whether it helps I found the link I wanted.

The diseased lesion will eventually expand. Though it's early to guess I'd say Ulocladium leaf spot.

Heritage or Chipco (Iprodione) should stop it from spreading though usually it'll stop on it's own if the weather changes.
