I have an aphid infestation. Want to get rid of them now! I read about Dawn dishwashing soap and water to get rid of them. Will the dish soap harm the plant? Should I spray the soap/water or just pour it on? Thanks for your help. Oh...can I do this during the day light or do I need to wait until the sun is setting?

Its just always safer to apply anything to your plant at night. I used to get bad cases of aphids this year I havent had a problem I sprayed with Ortho max and then neem-oil. Ortho kills on contact and Neem-oil smothers the eggs..works like a charm.

not sure that it will harm the plant,,but if you have been using a bio program I doubt that it will be very good for it,,,there is a soap available for using in organic programs,,, google "safer soap" you'll find links for info

Thank you all for your reply's. I have some bayer. My problem is that I work nights and have a hard time finding a time to spary after the sun goes down. Next year this will be incorporated in the soil and on the plants when they are very young. Thanks again.

Went to the patch and sprayed the dawn. Killed on contact. Got a few hunderd or so of them. Wow they do a lot of damage in a short amount of time, I was surprised. My patch partner is going to spray tonight, with the Merit.
