This message is for all yall that didnt go systematic with your sprays. A few days back I noticed wilting leaves and panicked fearing some how I still had svbs. So I slit open a couple vines and found nothing. But looking around I noticed Squash bugs lurking around. If you dont see any frass dont panic and go cutting every vine. Spray good with Sevin dust they hate that stuff. Put boards on ground near damaged vines and in the morning lift the boards the bugs like to hide there at night. Then make sure you spray the plants with disease control. Those pests spread terrible disease. I hope this helps and next year it shouldnt be a problem cause im using Merit.

Not to break your bubble,,but all it takes is one bite from a bug that is "carrying" and the disease is introduced to that plant,,stay on top of your programs to keep the plants healthy to so they are more resistant.

Try and avoid problems but there is no silver bullet for this one. IMO

I know and it sucks that I didnt use Merit to begin with. Im just gonna keep on spraying for disease control on a weekly basis like I have been. It sucks though the Svbs come do their damage and then go and now its time to fight another war with those dang Squash bugs. Do you know much about their life cycle and how long they stay around for?? And will the disease which almost looks like bacterial wilt be controlled with Disease control spray? Thanks for any more suggestions.

The bugs inject poisin into the plant when they eat it thats why they make the plant wilt.
