Has anyone ever had a problem with ozone damage to your pumpkins leaves? If so, how do you battle something like this? Cornell saw no disease or insect infestations. They also said water on the leaves during a hot day could have burned them.

I general high ozone concentration is a problem appearing on hot days and if you´re living near or within a big town. Over here they suggest to stop all physical work outside but never heard it will affect vegetation.
Misting should not be a problem for the plant, but overhead watering in the sun can cause drops on your leaves that act like burning glasses.

I, personally think that more damage can be done by a "depleted" ozone.(Burn!)

I will try to borrow my neighbor's digital camera tonight and see if I can get a picture posted.

I did post a picture on my diary in July. It was the beginning of the damage. I'll also try to post a more updated picture of the damage.

Hey Steelydave, Man do I get those leaves like that. I know I burned the plant early with some "poor man" misting with a hose on a sunny day and the plant was drooping. I think I'll go with some drip hoses next year to stop the hot day wilting...I just got a dripworks catalog and will check out misting system to see if I can do it...but to much to do all in one year withthe new patch and pond...if you come up with something let me know would love to solve this problem.
