I found slugs on 3 of my plants. they were on the cot leaves. I picked them off and sprayed Sevin on the plants. 2 days later, the cot leaves started turning yellowish brown. Today, the cot leaves look worse. I think my solution of Sevin was too strong. The rest of the plants look healthy, nice green color. The 3 that had the slugs on them are the only ones with the bad cot leaves. The 4th plant isn't having any problems or my back ups that are in pots. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated! I went and got Triazide to put around the plant and some Bug Getta (Ortho) granular. Thanks !

Easy Joe. See the recent posts about killing the plants with kindness.

Granular slug baits work fine. They often contain Sevin & Metaldehyde. However the granules go on the soil NOT on the young plants. Nothing should be sprayed on the seedlings.

how are the true leaves doing? The cots give the plant enough energy for it to establish themselves with a good root system and true leaves...the cots will shrivel off when this all happens...If the rest of the plant is looking good you should be ok. Good Luck...GrowEmBig! Chuck

Leave them be then Joe. Cots rarely last the season & contribute little anyway.
