Can someone please take a look at the pictures in my diary and tell me what they think about my problem?

Here is the scenario: I had a master gardener tell me that the issue with my plants looks like mosaic virus. I don't think so now. I think it is a combination of no sun for almost three weeks and chemical burn. I have had an interesting bug issue. First, there are these little flies swarming around the plants. They look like little knats. A couple days after these guys appeared, I got hit with Cuke beetles (both striped and spotted). I sprayed with sevin as usual. Cuke beetles done, but the sevin did not touch the little flies. This yellowing issue started to appear, and it showed the same signs as spider mites like I had two years ago. I had to wait to spray due to just using sevin. So, I could not stand it anymore and after 7 days I sprayed with malathion. Well, the little flies died but returned two days later following rain.

Thanks!!!

It looks like a chemical burn and not mosaic virus. If it was mosaic virus the leaves usually are deformed

It looks like you are lacking something in your soil or to much of something. Have you had a soil test done? I looked at your journal

It looks exactly like the watermellon mosiac I had last year caused by aphids ("little flies" that looked like knats that swarmed the leaves)I talked for an hour with our University of WI plant pathologist and sent him pictures. It was his call on the disease. The curling/browning edges of the newer leaves was a giveaway he said.

That could be spray injury but it also looks like Mosaic. There in a younger leaf in that picture that doesn't appear to be exhibiting symptoms. Was that leaf not there to be treated a week ago or were you just being cautious?

Well, it looks like the new growth over the past couple days is ok. We finally had two days of sunshine. I pruned the plants and will keep an eye on them for a few days before making any tough decisions. It looks like insecticide burn.

Same issues on my plant. Leaf problems are identical. I blame the cold, windy spring. We went two weeks at the end of May with out ever seeing the sun. I've sprayed very little and only at dusk. Now that's it's warming, all new growth is looking great.

The first leaves of my plant look like that from a cold April.
Farther up the vine the leaves are dark green and look great. That was during the warm spell in early May. Then, when May got cold and cloudy again, the leaves started with the yellow and molting.
Now thats it's warming again, all new growth is looking great.
