Hello,

I have 3 pumpkin plants that have been in the ground for six weeks. About two weeks ago all the new growth came out a pale yellow color. I`ve grown pumpkins for several years but I have never had this problem before. I would appreciate some help! Lesser goldfinch love eating the pumpkin leaves. Any ideas?

Thanks, Big Swede

Hey Big Swede, Tough to answer with so little to go on. Soil type, Watering regimen, patch prep, soil temps, soil tests. The plant does talk to you and yellowing of the leaves are an indication that the plant isn't happy. if you had to water excessively could be you leached out the nitrogen already, or just over watered....any additional info you could add would help....something is tying up the nutrients the plant is looking for just can't tell without some more info.

A patch cat for the goldfinch. The plant Could be lacking, iron, magnesium or nitrogen. Heat can be another issue. If the plant is dying on one side you may have unwanted friends taking up residence in the vines.
