I have been trying to kill these buggers forever. I killed 5 yesterday and went out early today and there where at least 7 flying around with me running around my patch bad back and all trying to kill them off.We applied merit on June 26 and I am finding some eggs(I remove and kill) and of course there flying everywhere. We did a deep root soak in the main vine and I sprayed the leaves both upper and underside and all vines with merit last time. I am getting scared of these buggies If the merit is working should we see dead bugs? We are finding little flies and such dead but bees are in the flowers and we still see a lot of svb's.Should we reapply the merit? Or should we maybe apply this triazide stuff we bought at home depo as an extra bug killer? We have fresh pollinations on and I am worried if we add the insecticide now will it hurt our new pollinations? Thanks for any help in this matter. May you grow em big and not have to deal with to many buggies.

Merit is not a 100% solution on the SVB. Call me some time this week and I can blast your patch with warrior -t. it should stop them dead.

It's not so much the SVB moth ( though the more you kill off you will have less eggs around to hatch ) it's when the eggs on the plant hatch and the tiny borors start eating into the vines .... thats when you will find out if your merit works. I would do another application of merit if I were you and if the plants have enough in its system the tiny borors should die off when they start feeding on your plants. Good Luck !

Birds will not replace Warrior/merit combo....as a matter of fact, they do more damage than they are worth in the pkn patch when they peck the leaves and young fruit.

How long from egg to grub? I've had svb's for the last couple weeks and I haven't seen any sign of grub damage. I'd like to think the merit is working. Thanks.
