I just lost the 1462 Gibson day 29 est.over 400 pounds. It was growing over 30 pounds a day then started sapping heavy around stem and ribs by the stem. I put captan on and dried then it stopped growing. The 1078 Krug is doing the same thing and is stopping also. The 1462 cut open really did not show much but were it was sapping was like rotting on the inside. I posted some pictures of it and should be up soon. I do have another pumpkin set on the 1078 out 25 feet or so if the other stops. It seems to be growing fine.

Marty, I had some in past years ooze a clear sap and they seem to do Ok. They just look really ugly. What you have looks more like a fungus of some kind. We had a couple 3 years ago stop growing around Labor day, and before weighoff they split open and were rotten inside like yours. The next year we started having disease problems like you had the past few years and they would abort too. This year I started using weekly applications of Alliette once the hot humid weather started, and so far no trouble. It is systemic and supposed to control a whole bunch of fungal diseases. I hope it keeps working.

I ordered mine from Rosemania on internet. I think Seed Outlet.com has it too. It didn't help me last year after the problems showed up, but as a preventative it seems to be helping this year.
