we just had our first good rain in a while (about 10 days) and the soil is now moist enough for the slugs and snails to make their way to the plants. i put down some sluggo the day before and still found a bite or 2 this morning on a couple plants. worst case scenario is to have one lock on to the base of a plant or the tip of the main and start chomping, but i have never had that happen before. but they can do some decent damage to the new and tender leaves...their favorites. i sprinkle some sluggo under the walking boards near the plants and do a cicrle around the plants. with many growers in the midwest all the way to the east coast getting moisture from this whacky system, i figured i would throw out a heads up.
