Would any of you CT growers know where I can purchase daconil? My local Agway has it but it is in a ready to use formula which I assume is just a small spray bottle. I am looking for the concentrate to put in my sprayer. Can it even be purchased in a concentrated form?

a friend of mine told me that Ortho makes the same product under a different name, so I just got some Ortho garden disease control. Same ingredient Chlorothalonil or something like that.

Orthomax probably - 29.6% - it'll work.

Farmers use Bravo which is 54%

Just curious, if I were to mix a little less than twice the amount of ortho at 29.6% strength, would that be near the same as the 54% Bravo solution?I was speaking to a farmer today and he was raving about Bravo and how great it works.

Bravo goes out at 1.5-3 pints/acre or up to 48oz/acre or (basically) 1 oz/gallon per 1000 sq ft.

Ortho Max Garden Disease label says tsp. use 2-2.75 teaspoons per gal which is close enough for kosher (sort of).

Bravo works better not because it's stronger but rather because it contains Syngenta's Weather-stick emulsifiers that properly spread the material out on the leaves. I sell much better surfactants than Syngenta uses but they can't be added prior to spraying...hence Weather-stick is a compromise but it still blows away the consumer garbage used by Scott's/Ortho.

Most growers dismiss surfactants as a ripoff,,,just another way to bilk the grower out of his money,,,the truth is that a good organosilicone will make an average chemical work very well. It'll make a good chemical work great.

Tremor, maybe a list of "good" organosilicones,(surfactants) is needed here for us less up to date folks!!! Is all this the same as a sticker/ spreader? And once again I will say ... Kudo's to Tremor for all the help he freely gives to all of us!!! Peace, Wayne

I'm only aware of three & I used to work with them. Exacto is the manufacturer. They don't sell the product under their own brand name. There are just three distributors.

Does anybody use FUNG-ONIL (http://www.agway.com/catalog/home_and_garden/lawn_and_plant_care/fungicide/881_fung-onil_qt_conc)? When I could not find Daconil this year I bought some of this to alternate with my Armicarb. I have not used any yet, as I still have Daconil.

I use fung-onil without any problems. Same active ingredient as daconil (chlorothalonil).

You can buy it at Meijer. Called Ortho Garden Disease Control, or something close to that. Has 29.96% ai I believe.
