While burying vines I noticed some white grubs in the soil. Are they bad for my patch? If so, what do I do?

Grubs feed on plant roots. Many garden centers have a product called "GrubX" (or variations of it). It is granular form. I guess you could sprinkle that on the soil around your vines. Once it get wet it activates in the soil. I always put down an application of this before planting time. I have been told that the plant will actually intake the product and help fight the squash vine borer. Anyone else heard that?

Active ingredient of GrubX is imadicloprid (Merit) so it will help with other bugs including borers.

I have been using Merit 75 as a drench for an insecticide.Every 14 days I re-apply. Should I use grub X where the plant is headed?
