How long does it take a vine borer egg too hatch?

I saw 2 laying eggs today. I'll be spraying with merit and talstar this afternoon when it cools off.

What did you do with the two you saw laying aggs ? !

Should have scooped them up, and their eggs, along with some of the soil where you saw all this action.....and placed all carefully inside a large glass jar with screening over the top.

You might have been able to observe and make notes and follow the progress of eggs hatching and days to do that within your control test.

....just like high school biology class.

7-10 days is the printed usual.....but it all depends on temperatures. Hotter= faster egg to larvae time. Just remember- if there's one theres more...and who says you caught the first one in the act on the first day? Spray now.

Muddy Waters

you can fill a spray bottle with malathion or equivilent and set on jet spray & nail the Squash vine borer while he is sitting on vine there fast bot the jet spray is faster.I have killed dozens this way.
