Rootshield, Merit, & Companion...soil diseases, bugs, and fungus...? Correct, all systemic? Can I mix these together, and drench soil around new plants? Peace, Wayne

I believe both root shield and companion are both a type of bacteria that colonize the roots
(kinda like the way mycor does), So defitly not a systemic.

Merit is a type of systemic, from what I understand it after being absorbed by the roots it moves through the plants vascular system.

I don't think anybody can honestly tell you for a fact if all 3 can be applied and work together.

If i were applying all 3 products I would apply the merit separately.

good luck

IMHO You could start a test plant and put it in a pot so you can test chemicals on it to see if they work or negatively effect the plant. That is what I do.

Rootshield and Companion are not systemics and can be used together, and they are absolutely not chemicals.
I agree on applying the merit seperately.
The merit went on almost immediately after planting as did the companion, spaced out a week apart, the rootshield was put in the planting hole.

I think I knew that systemic was incorrect when I typed it...what I think I meant was soil drench as a mode of application!!? (My merit is 75WP). Thanks, Tom Peace, Wayne

Wayne,
Merit as a systemic applied every 30 days and a preventive spray program of weekly applications of talstar of other contact sprays will be great for you.
Companion applied as a drench every 2 weeks and Rootshield applied when you are applying Mycorrhiza (the Rootshield wont harm the mycorr in the soil, it will have other sources of food) will keep you fairly healthy.
The only thing I would recommend as bio fungicides along with the Rootshield is Actinovate and maybe Granular comapnion, I am applying it when i bury as an added level of protection.
