I just posted in my diary this morning that I saw the first Cucumber Beetles here in Ontario. Last year I saw the first ones June 16 just to give you an idead how far we are ahead of last year. Lots of extreme heat here forcast for this week so they should really come on fast. BE PREPARED!

Do these lil buggers, start showing up in the Northern areas first, and then travel south? I am hearing of sightings in VT...and today "major infestation" in N. Indiana!!! I am in NW Kentucky and aint seen one...yet, this year!!! I guess, it's time to start doing some prevention!!! Garlic barrier here we go!!! Peace, Wayne

just took a break from doing some weeding to report my first cuke beetle squishing between my fingers sighting. it was half dead from the merit which is cool but tonight at dusk at the first intermission of the blackhawks run for the cup i will be out spraying a light dose of talstar one. i have found it is not as hard on semi warm leaves as demand cs (same as warrior) and it will get to 87 today here and will still be warmer than my liking for spraying at dusk. next weekend when temps are lower i will hit with demand cs. saw my first monster dragonfly this morning which is nice but it is also a sign where there are predators there are meals. the svb is soon to follow.

I put in 3 plants at a buddy's place in Columbiana county Ohio last night. We checked on them this morning and cuke beetles were all over them. Had to run FAST to get some dust.
