Hi Steve. I live in a mobile home.I got ants bad. I try ant gel dopont inside and it works great. But on the outside of the mobile home is where the ants are going inside. Is there something that you can spray on the foundation of the mobile home????? or on the ground ???? Thanks,,,,greg

Greg,

This is curious. Most sugar ants are brown Regardless, are they attracted to the kitchen or discarded pop cans, candy, etc?

Steve i think they are brownish. Sorry about that. Steve i had dodson about 5 years back and they would never spray the outside foundation and ground. They would used the ant gel Dupont. I order myself some ant gel,,,,,Same stuff they used. I guess dodson was just after my money,,lol. I would think that you would have to spray outside first to keep them from coming inside. I think if you keep baiting them inside the ants will keep on coming.,,,,I was thinking about useing Talstar. Do you have any ideas??? Thanks,,,,greg

Greg, there are alot of products on the market to create a barrier that the ants won't cross.

Ortho Home Defence Max is great and comes in a ready to use pump sprayer or in concentrate.

Smash one and smell your finger. Sounds like odorous house ants possibly. If its an odorous house ant it will give a citrus-ish smell when smashed with your finger. Best thing to do is deep clean your kitchen or area they are coming in real good with bleach to get rid of their odor trail, try your best to hunt down the exact point they are entering your house and treat their nest directly and maybe a couple small baits on the inside of your home for the occasional wandering scouts. Ants are a PIA to get rid of sometimes since most of them that enter your house dont have huge colonies but several smaller colonies.

OK...Now we're getting there.

Start with Talstar, Demand or similar pyrethroid around the foundation.

then afterwords bait....(no point repelling the ants from bail)

Tarro ant bait is good but you can make it yourself. Mix Boric Acid with corn syrup. Place it in bottle caps out of the rain.

Gel can also be employed and might contain enough moisture to tempt ants during dry spells.

The main thing is to present different baits and to never repel the ants from the bait with perimeter sprays.
