Steve, having the hardest time with cuke beetles, they seem to be the only thing that just won't get lost, Hungry little bastards too. I have holes in leaves on all my plants. Being an organic grower I have been using, spinosad, neem, mosquito barrier, pyrethrum and BT as pesticides. Last one to try is rotenone. will it help or do you know of something else organic that I can use?

We use imidaclorid plus bifenthrin. Huge infestations can be broken up with Mosquito or Garlic Barrier much faster tough you won't have the satisfaction of body counrs.

Organic control of cuke beetles is tough. I've been trying a bunch of things for several years with very limited success. Check out my diary to see what I'm trying this year - floating row cover for the entire season. I don't know any other effective way to keep them off completely. There is a product called "Surround" that I know works well on fruit trees but I've never tried it on my pumpkins, and it generally needs to be in place before the insects show up. It is kaolin clay and will turn your leaves white, so it may block some sunlight too, I'm not really sure. But then again so does the row cover. Good luck with the battle, it could be a long one, but don't give up!

I've used a product called bug buster. It's a pyrethrin based product that erradicated all the bugs. So far, I'm very impressed with it. Product arrived 3 days after the order.
