For the problems I am experiencing with my plants this year.....would it be an even better idea to get a plant tissue test done after I recieve my Soil test results?

For anyone wondering what my problem is....please visit my diary.

Also, what is needed for a tissue test? Different parts of the plant? Leafs, vines, stems, etc. ?

Thanks...

Most tissue tests are only for nutrients - NPK and micros.
One must collect 12-15 medium sized leaves, no stems, layered them between loose news paper, then ship Next Day Air ONLY on Monday-Wednesday so they don't sit over the weekend turning to mush. Kinda pricey even for the shipping.

This will not tell you anything about diseases. Fir that you;s need a pathology lab which is free in most states. But you need to call them in advance and hand deliver the sample.

Commercial pathology labs exist but cost big bucks.

I did it last year. The results came back just in time to tell me I had low potassium after my pumpkin split. LOL The pumpkin had really thin walls. Maybe if I would have done it earlier I could have done something.
