I have been alternating Neem Oil spray and milk spray but today I came home to find powdery mildew on many leaves. I need to find something to salvage this plant. I looked at Daconil label and it's pretty brutal. The reason I was going organic is that the patch is up against bedroom wall. I read sulfur based products work but they can burn plant and can't be used within 21 days of an oil spray. I just sprayed Neem Oil about 5 days ago. This is the first year I have a pumpkin that legitimately be a good size - it's on day 17 and still on track for 800lb benchmark (my previous best is only 94 lbs). Any ideas to keep this plant going?

I should also mention I live in a very hot (100+), dry climate. I run misters but only during the day. Fine spray misters go off from 10:30am to 12:30 pm for 2 minutes, then every 5 minutes from 1pm to 4pm for 20 seconds. I thought this would be okay given temperature which evaporates water quickly off leaves. Maybe I should decrease misting?

I use seaweed every few days. I would try to wash the leaves and try to scrape the spores off then apply doconil on the leaves. Avoid misting if possible. You'll have a better shot with an application of doconil. I spray it very thick on the leaves. I have never seen a leave lost when doconil has been applied early.

I had a PM problem and hit it hard with Daconil and Mancozeb. i removed many of the leaves in the worst shape, and am regrowing terts to backfill those open areas. I also sprayed Bonide Infuse (systemic) to prevent future spreading. Like Kenny said, you can also rub off the bigger patches of spores. It's under control now, but whatever you choose to do, act fast. Good luck.

Thanks guys. What kind of seaweed do you use Kenny?

2% Lowfat milk mixed at 40% once or twice a week.

I have only been using milk at 1:10 ratio with water and about once every two weeks. Tremor, Now I see you and Matt DeBacco both say to use at 40%. And I didn't realize I could do it twice a week. I will be hitting the milk harder from now on!

Milk is cheaper than Daconil!

Hey Endlesstrail, I hope it works out for you but I have heard the systemics are more preventative. Either way, hopefully it will help the problem from getting worse or at least slow it down. Next year I am starting a systemic early.
