My brother and I have 8 plants spread out 30' on center in a straight line. The first three in the row all have developed foaming stumps in the last week. Two of them occurred in the last two days. Can anyone please give me some insight to what is going on. I check my stumps all the time and this is the first year I have ever had a foamer. The last two foamers came the morning after I culled the plant down to one fruit. Coincidence?

I Cleaned the stump with bleach water and performed open stump surgery. Then I implanted an in dwelling catheter for drainage. I have fans on them 24/7 to dry them out. The drainage tube really helps as it keeps fluid from soaking in around the stump. This must be the year for foamers! Good luck everybody!

I spoke with a pathologists at MSU She said NEVER use Bleach. I used 10% hydrogen peroxide as she suggested to kill 2nd hand bacteria.I sprayed daily foaming stopped in 1 week also keep dry when watering and in between.
