Hey, I'm growing a 1505 holland this year, and I self pollinated a pumpkin at about 8 feet out in mid july, and left the shriveled blossom on the pumpkin for a few weeks, then pulled it off. It revealed the 4 lobes, which were black on the edges. It has been slowly deforming, and is shriveling toward the pumpkin, turning black. Is this rot? What's going on? Thanks

You can cut off the rotten part. Most growers would then treat with a fungicide like captan or daconil. I have used krazy glue when I had to cut the blossom end back to the pumpkin. It worked. Pumpkin is healthy still almost a month later.
