I've got a growing white soft spot near the blossom end of my giant pumpkin. It's about 250 pounds, and is growing in Salem, Oregon. Any ideas on what it might be? The white cotton-looking patch grew from about 2 inches to 8 inches overnight. Are we done for the season??

don't know the name of this mold, but your pumpkin will rot very soon. I would say you are done. Sorry, but I have seen that before.

Scrape it back to firm flesh, a spoon works well, dust with captan or sulfur then got a fan running 24-7, keep everything DRY.

Just what Tremor said, dry, dry, dry and try.
