I was hit hard by powdery mildew last year. What are your thoughts on eagle? My understanding is its a good systemic? I used bonide infuse which seemed to help after the plants were already infected but I've heard it's hard on the myco.

Eagle is not a systemic, but...it is one of the best products that I've used to control it.
I havent had a trace of PM since we started using Eagle, the most important part is being proactive, you have to start applying it before you see the disease, a good fungicide program will consist of 2 or more fungicides on a rotation, started early in the season.

Not to bash Tom, as he is a very knowledgeable grower but Eagle is a systemic fungicide…

While I cannot recommend Eagle for use on pumpkins Rally (previously called Nova) has the same active ingredient as Eagle but is labeled for pumpkins…

I have used Rally and can say that it does work, but you must tank mix a contact like Bravo (a.i. Chlorothalonil) with it and use it sparingly and in rotation as resistance can become an issue. Personally, I recommend Rally just as Powdery Mildew is getting going, but if you have a bad case do not apply any fungicides (plan for next year) as you will just be selecting for resistant strains that are already becoming much too common.

If you want to go nuclear, Eagle will do the trick. I haven't had any PM issues until October, then I don't care. There are alternatives, but you have to start before the problem begins.
