The Merit used with Bifen IT combo will eliminate all bugs from your patch. It doesn't discriminate!

Secondary question...aren't the squash bugs the carrier of bacterial wilt? If using a systemic, the s/bugs are chewin on & transfering the wilt to yer plant, and then they die? All help is needed here!!! Peace, Wayne

Yes PW it takes 2 seconds for aphid to infect plant,so once they munch its to late, all aphids dont carry the virus at all times, there only contagious for 20 minutes.so systemics do help ,but you should also eliminate other ways with sprays & such,Destroy all weeds within 100 feet of patch, farther if possible,or spray the weeds to kill them before they hit your patch.I will be spraying my wifes flower beds as they are a breeding ground for pure EVIL inscects!lol

From U of KY Ag college: "Squash bugs are the vector of a newly recognized disease called Yellow Vine Decline. The bacteria that causes this disease is injected into the plant while squash bugs feed with piercing-sucking mouthparts. The disease results in yellowing, wilting and death of the plant. It is important to prevent squash bugs from feeding on young plants early in the season."
