Got to 98 degrees today and closed hothouses late tonite after it cooled off.Junebugs were everywhere and playing disco or getting frisky on my pumpkin leaves---do they hurt anything?

Are you sure they're june bugs? June bugs don't come out here until about July 1 and they don't even fly near the patch.

Yup-looks like and got husband confirmation-like I said really hot here and were even all over our back door last nite

I can confirm the June Bugs are out here in Iowa. I've never seen them chewing on my pumpkin leaves, but that's not to say they won't. I have a feeling their grubs are a problem for roots.

After a little googling I found out that there is more than one variety. Sould have figured so since cucumber beetles come in more than one. I was refering to the green variety. I assume you were refering to the brown ones that you have to sweep off the porch in the mornings. Never had a problem with them in the patch.

They are out here as well. They like grass roots mostly. =)
