After reading many many posts of bayer tree and shrub formula(imidacloprid)andhaving had my ash tree dosed with it for years for EAB I decided to use a systemic. My concern with the tree and shrub formula is the long term nature of the chemical and the fact that it comes with fertilizer mixed in. I dont think I need more fert with the chicken manuer, foliar and drench kelp/neptunes/jacks. bayer now has a vegatable formula no fert. that lists cucumber beetles and pumpkins. The .235% is light compared to the 1.47 for the tree and shrub so I doubles the concentration and drenched(7oz /gal)so we will see what happens. i will continue with orthomax and triazicide as well.

In the end you will be spraying the same amount of chemical...at three times the cost...

I have to disgree linus, the price is only 14$ for 32 oz. and I am not trying to match the 1.47% concentration in the the tree and shrub formula as doubling the dose would only be .47%. I just want a baseline of the systemic chemical without loading it up in my soil and adding extra fertilizer that I dont need. So for 14 dollars I have enough for another drench in late july for both plants.
