do the systemics harm bees? I run a berry farm and can't afford to harm my polinators. I'm trying to increase the native bee populations, not decrease them. I don't want the bees to polinate the pumpkins, but I don't want them dead either.

If you cut all the unopened flowers you will not need. And tie all the ones you need the bees won't be able to get to the flowers in the first place. One solution I can think of.

See below thread about this, but I am using 1 oz to 1 gallon this year as a drench. Are you spraying at the bottom are doing a foliar? I wasn't sure if you could do foliar with that stuff.

I use Alias which has imadacloprid at 42.3%. No problems with it killing my bees but cukes are toast.

I'm going with a low tunnel over the plants. 9 ft x 20 ft low tunnel with double layer lightweight floating row cover. we are in zone 3a and are stuck in a 70's for highs, 50's for lows. the tunnel will keep the bees out and raise temps 5 degrees at night and 10-15 in the day. then I can use the sytemic insecticide until the plants outgrow the tunnels. After I decide to go with the tunnels I found a post refering to them as "Ohio Valley hooches". I guess they have been used before, if not as long into the season.
