This morning my husband noticed brown streaks and patches on his giant pumpkin leaves. Upon arriving home this afternoon it had spread to the majority of the plant. He treated with agrifos, which is a fungicide.

What are these spots? Is his season going to be wiped out by this? What else can he do?

It could be many different things. A picture is needed for a possible diagnosis.

The first thing the comes to mind is sunburn. It has been so cloudy and rainy and then all the sudden it is sunny and the leaves fry.

it is a tanish color, resembles a mold powder consistency however it does not look like the normal white powdery mildew. The leaves have stiffened. There are no bugs visible.

Chemical burn? Did he mix the fungicide properly?
Did he water it in the middle of the day? Maybe he watered the plants with the hot water in the hose if it was left in the sun to heat up the water?
