Handy, open up a 2nd internet window, highlight the above link with your mouse, hit "control & C" then go to the other internet window and hit "control & V" in the address bar and hit return to open up his\her diary photo. Or do the old right click copy and paste into the new internet window. They are the same function.
KRC, check out this link if you are having issues with leaves.

Thanks Smallmouth for the link.
I removed any possibly diseased leaves and dusted the remaining parts of the stem with Sevin dust to keep the bugs out.
I will spray fungicide this evening.

Could be sun burn but I picture further out would be helpful to get an idea of the area that has this problem. If it is localized and not spreading these are good signs that it is not something worse.

Looking at when you posted and if this is a new onset of a disease, I would have to consider Downy mildew. It enters our area from the south around the first or second week of July. Its arrival is predicable in our area. Also, here is a link to a DM monitoring site. It can tell you when the first reported outbreaks in your area. I am from WNC too, where you at? Loaded my pumpkin up for the Mountain state fair yesterday in all that rain. Should be my personal best.
