The interior leaves of my plant started to yellow a few weeks ago. It starts on the outer edges and progresses to the whole leave eventually turning it brown. The vines are growing but slowly. There is no evidence of spore or insect damage. IT has now taken over the inner 1/5 of my plant. Is this fusarium? How do know? Do I have any options for saving the plant this year? If anyone has any advice I would appreciated it. Thanks

This plant tested positive for fusarium. http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=141542 I didnt have any issues with with leaves turning brown. But I lost my pumpkin and could not get fruit to set. Check out the Mad Scientist link on the home page for leaf issues

I'll go with Ron on this..fusaria usually prevents fuit growth as a primary symptom..Alternaria is a leaf problem...In any case a tissue sample is the best way to find out. do not use any tools in the garden and go somewhere else with them without bleaching the tools...both diseases require either soil sterilization or 3- 4 years fallow...most of us only have one patch and can't do that. Good Luck! Been there done that. GrowEmBig! Chuck
