How do i cure this? do i cut off affected vine/vines? any thing i can apply to plant to correct it?

If you are sure you have it, there is no cure. It is a bacteria inside the plant and the symptoms don't necessarily tell you where the bacteria are. It's one of those problems you have to prevent from day one.

The insect vector is the squash bug. You need to prevent squash bugs from feeding on the plant. Pyrethroid based insecticides will repel and kill squash bugs.

I use floating row cover from beginning of the season to the end. Used to lose plants every year to YVD, now the squash bugs are gone and my plants are doing great.

What is a floating row cover and where do you get it? Hope to get it in place for next season. YVD has flattened two of the three plants in my patch this week, after I've been applying near weekly topical and systemic insecticide.
Also, I think it would be interesting to see if the pumpkin community can identify seed lines that are YVD resistant. Real buzzkill disease.

Floating row cover is a white fabric material used for insect or frost protection. It comes in many different thicknesses, and lets air and water through. The stuff I use weighs .55 ounces per sq. yard, you can get it from several different online suppliers, but if you live close to me I can hook you up next year. Here is my set-up, you don't need anything this huge unless you become crazy like me:

Do the leaves turn lite green for a couple weeks than as plant dies leaves are yellow to gold color mostly on 1st runner???Does this sound like YVD??
