I thought I had one Sunday night. Fool thing was trapped under the not quite entirely removed convertible top to the greenhouse like a housefly banging into a window. Sprayed him with Battle (scimitar). DEAD. Brought him in so's to photograph & share with everyone. Nothing but a darn Leaf Cutter Wasp. Oh well.

Got 2 more today. John, If they migrated from Seabrook I would expect them to be at least triple thier normal size due to the Nuc power plant. At least they would be easier to see. LoL. I'm finding them in my field pumpkins and winter squash, got down on my hands and knees to watch one lay eggs (which I wiped off after) and it just hovers kinda stationary and deposits the eggs with what looks like a stinger under the vine or right at the base of the main root where it comes out of the ground. Should of had a camcorder to tape it, before I smashed it.

We have not seen one yet but we are, by crackers, ready for the beauties. Topped off the Merit to maximum and began the Scimitar offering a meal and a desert for all comers.

....Have not seen a snail or slug on the patch plants while using Escar-Go from Gardens Alive.

....We keep peeking several times daily. Hope they all just avoid the patch. If not I think we are ready for 'em!

they arrived in northern illinois last week and are making
me mental. killed one today, which makes 7 kills this
week. i swat them on the leaves and then get down and find them stunned and squash em....pun INtended. i am spraying
every 5 days to try to get any larvae after they hatch.
i bet my neighbors get a kick watching the no shirted fat
guy dancing around his pumpkin patch with a fly swatter
in hand and a discerning scowl on his face.
