I heard Amelio talking about how good boiler sand (bottom ash) is and how it has everything seeds need to germinate. Is it more suspectable to diseases, alternaria blight, anybody know about boiler sand? best place to buy it? thanks

Clean seed could be a reference to Virus"s can carry over in the seed per Michigan State University

Well then whats the best way to keep them from getting the virus, and spreading to other seeds? How do you know if a seed has it.

Some seeds can carry it & some may not in the same kin,You really cant tell in till you grow it,You will see it in the leaves early on.The best way is send a leaf to lab.end of sept. They will tell you if plant has a virus. If it does some seeds will surley carry it.It doesnt spread seed to seed after harvested.I have always tossed my seeds out if the Kin had it.I wont let anyone grow them.

The virus is spread by aphids,Use Merit,& kill all weeds within 100 feet of your patch if possible.

Are you seriously listening to amelio? Do yourself a favor and go to the user settings and ignore him. No more gibberish.

It's really time for everyone to let this guy know we are no longer interested in hearing from him on Big Pumpkins ever again. His ideas are borderline insane and his attitude is belligerent towards us. Scott

Hey Scott, I never see his posts anymore...ignore works great!!

Amazing though, how a non-grower can peev-off such a small group such as ours...

He has no AG growing experience, knowledge, expertise of any kind, credibility, and yet someone posts a question regarding his jibber-jabber and expects a logical answer...amazing!!

To be honest with you I was asked to deal with Amelio from another grower since I at the time was the only grower communicating with him.

Are the lightbulbs incandescent or compact flourescent? Because incandescent aren't effecicient and CFL's contain mercury vapor. There must be a better lightbulb out there that nobody is using.

Matt there are always LED bulbs. I took out a second morgage and bought a couple. I can't read by them or anything, but they are efficient and make a really nice glow....
