I have a 2 oz bottle of Merit and I have NO idea how to use it! I haven't opened it yet but Im assuming it is a powder. Can anyone advise me on how to apply it and how often and what not? Unless advised otherwise, I plan to alternate every other week between Merit and Scimitar.

THANKS!

Mike, I beleive that one application of Merit is good for 90 days. I also remember something about the 2 o.z. bottle is enough for 1 arce. I will try to find the email from Tremor and foward it to you.

I'm using Disulfotan this year in my main patch as a systemic and the jury is still out as to its effectiveness against the svb larvae. I applied Imidaclorprid(merit) to my in laws patch, a bottle that I purchased at Walmart. I still alternate spraying Permethrin and Lambda Cyhalothrin every other week just to be safe. Dean o

Update to previous post, 2 o.z of merit is good for 1/4 acre, 11,000 square feet(not 1 acre). The suggested mix is 1 teaspoon to 2 gallons water. This should be good for 1,000 square feet. And it is good for 90 days, so one application should last until the end of the season. Good luck. Dean o

Merit 75 WP as specked by our on line coach, Steve, to me, indicates that initial application should be four teaspoons per two gallons of water. This is to treat 1000 sq.ft. Apply by sprayer equally over the patch. It may be sprayed over the plants but is to be watered in within twenty four hours.

...This is a product that lasts but starts at full strength and is used by the plant and also fades in strength over time...both in the plant and in the ground.

...To maintain strength in the plant and in the ground top off with another treatment at half strength every thirty days....ending in the North East with August treatment.

....Please note this is for Merit 75 WP. I do not know if there are different strength products.

Mike,
That 2 oz bottle is plenty for several apps. Here's a link to the product label.....
