Spotted cukes here in northern illinois. One month early. Usually that means 10 days or so until svb sighting. I put out the svb traps early based on kentucky sighting of svb already. Tough decision to spray young sprouts. I will wait and monitor before contact in light doses and rely on systemic at this point and hope they do not come in a wave early and have a few straglers. Probably a little early for the cukes to be transfering diseases unless they rode the recent southwest winds from these recent storms. Either way, they are here.

Shazzy, I almost put a post up yesterday but they are here too. I still have yet to see an SVB which makes me hesitant to put a trap out now. I have been spraying Garlic Barrier which is some stinky stuff, but has done the job so far with cuke beetles.

Cukes are out in force in Anamosa. I blame the mild winter and early warm-up in March.
