Thanks for the feedback. I'm lucky for the guys that that answer the same kind of questions year after year. Here is what I learned for the other nubs like me.
Early on in the season you are going to see lots of little imperfections in the plants. Sometimes they get those wavy stalks, sometimes they get yellow spots on the leaves, sometimes the leaves are totally misshapen Dont forget that these things are freaks and sometimes will do things or grow things that are strange. When plants are small it takes them 3-4 weeks to "get going". Some times the color is off and they will not look 100%. Then one day they figure it out and color up and get going. Thanks for words of wisdom. So in the first few years I will try not to sweat every leaf too.

Boy can I relate Darren :)
I'm going nutzzzz over here! Flat vine, ribbon vine, shooting to the stars vine, to many leaves, not enough leaves, to many flowers, not any flowers, soil moist or wet, yellow on the rim of the leaf, yellow spots, one plant dark green, the other lite green (same soil) hot house, no hot house,,,,, the list goes on and on............

Ohhh I forgot the books don't tell you about this part...just wait until you have a big one and you have dreams about Squash Vine Borers have filled your basement and you cant get to your patch..
