I have two of my plants that have layed down and are outgrowing the coldframes;The temperature in the mornings are around 52 to 56 degrees in the morning.Is this to cold for them? ;should i wait for a higher temp later on in the month?

That's pretty balmy for us here in New England...I think they'll be just fine...toughen 'em up a bit! LOL!

50 degrees is the low that I set my thermostat at for overnight temps.
You are good to go....take those cold frames off.

Just looked on the weather network for your area in Niles, and next 14 days looks nice...similar to the hills in North Vancouver right now. Are you in the hills or near the ocean? I thought California was always warmer than here.
Batten down the hatches (secure your plants to the ground). I find the plants need a few days to toughen up to the winds when for the first month they are all tucked in.
We don't use wind fences here, but need to make sure the young plants are secured down while they begin to grow other roots along the main and at the secondary growth areas.
I've lost plants to early wind blow-over...wont let it happen again.
