Any sun is better than none...so late day/evening sun is very beneficial.

Agreed, more sun is better but don't be discouraged. I don't get any sun after 1pm (noon in one area)and still grew 500+, 400 and 400 last year. I think you could hit 1K with sun till 4pm.

We have a CO grower that has shade from 4pm on.He is 2 pounds shy of the 1308# state record.I thing morning light is the more crucial.

Well, it is 7:45 pm here right now and my plants are enjoying full sun...they sure seem to enjoy it!!

due to damn neighbors trees, my squash plant doesnt see sun after 6pm
