If it rains do you assume that most of or all of the pesticide is washed off and spray again or just wait at least 5 days before spraying again

I read the labels....and call the 800 number when I have a question. All products are different...some have good "weatherstick"...others degrade in sunshine....others gas off....you need to read the labels and learn each product.

Try Garlic Barrier, it doesn't kill anything, but it deters them. I'm using it this year and it's working wonders so far.

Luke, Im with Darren on this one.... Ive tried the Garlic spray hasnt worked for me, cucs were so bad Monday night when i got home at 1 am they were breeding all over my plant i filled the sprayer and went to town on them, I dont like using pesticdes myself but this year im in full force, was burrying vines the other day and watched 2 svbs laying eggs all over the place i was able to kill one but couldnt catch the other " they are HARD to kill" so out came the merit, Im spraying Merit every 2 weeks at 2 tbs per half gallon then drenching in, and im spraying contact once a week rotations between sevin, Matador and Bonide systemic. Fungicides start this weekend once temps cool down a bit. its eaither vine squash borer that get me or powdery mildew, I'll be honest Ive tried the organic way and it just DONT WORK!!, Eagle, Bravo and Daconil are on weekly rotation for me.. If this years set-up dont work I will just have to move up to something better, like i said I dont like using fungi or pesti sprays in my home patch but i wanta grow pumpkins too :-)... Dave

I found a svb in the Kin Cave yesterday, must of hatched out of the soil.I went & got a hand spray bottle, put about triple dose strength otrhenex in it.I then set in on jet spray,I nailed his a$$ did the mexican hat dance on him then hung him on a hoop for the rest to see.Oh then I rinsed the leaf off twice.Works real well you can nail them all day long. The trap Tom sold me works well also,I am up to 14 svbs in trap. Not to worried plants are treated with Bayer tree & shrub.Carry a second bottle with clean water & rinse your leaf.

Dave, I didn't say not to use pesticides. But, since Darren has been using many different sprays, he can add that in too. Lots of people use it in conjunction with other pesticides.
