I think my giant pumpkin Lois is sick. I would REALLY appreciate any opinions I could get. I tried to add a picture but that didn't work for me. My pumpkins do have a FB page and I just put up some pictures of the problem. 'Giant Pumpkins in the Woods' on Facebook. Otherwise I can tell you that Lois is yellow, 45 days old, estimated at 736 and starting to discolor with spotted leaves. She grew 26 pounds since yesterday and is starting to get small cracks.

Cantelouping is very common at this stage...It is a good thing. The leaves almost look like a disease. I would give them a good shot of fungicide.

Thank You Very Much Linus Van Pelt that makes me feel a little bit better. I thought it was all over when she went from 30-40 pounds a day down to 7 but now is picking back up.

Your weight gains will cause the cracks. That happened to my 912 last year. Don't over do the potassium, don't over water, keep the fruit covered with a sheet and and add a quilt at night.

Thanks VTSteve I just put the sheet on and will cover her with a Quilt at night, that sounds like a marvelous idea. I am still worried about her color change and I picked a few of those leaf problems from your link that are going on in my patch. I will do my best to work on these problems. Thanks Again everyone seems so NICE here I am glad I decided to post :)
