I have been using Scimitar and Merit on my plants but today I found a few SVB eggs. Will these die or does their presence indicate I am not doing a good job with the insectacide? Thanks, mike Frantz

Mike,
I'd physically remove the ones you can. Those you can't will hatch. Most of them will attempt to bore. If you have a good charge of soil applied Merit coursing through the plants veins, then their all toast!
I'd still make up a fresh Scimitar & Merit (at the foliar rate) cocktail & apply to the vines just to be on the safe side.

Mike....I started the season with Steves advise on use of Merit. In thirty days I deducted and cheked with him for approvial that a treatment at half the original strength was in order. That fills up the tank and tops it off a little when your plants are stronger about June the first. I did a half dose fill up and top off again on July and August. That's it except to note the half doses all were placed on the the leaves at half strength. If you graph this out you end up in theory a little bit higher level of protection than the first application at the lowest safe rate each time you top it off. The practice provided excellent protection as I have see no destructive insect populations. It introduces stronger protection to stronger plant conditions.
I saw no SVB adults and only a few beetles that caused a few leaf holes to show up.
I don't know if you can get much better than that with any system.
To counter any negative unknown under ground health issues I use a continued application of AGRO-K patch health building foliar foods and other additives including a steady flow of black strap molasses to feed my workers.
