I would like to know where to send some rotting plant material. My 805 Pukos which has had some wilting problems all year seems to be down for the count. I have the following conditions- Rotting sections of vine, The worst right at the pumpkin, Wilting leafs turn crisp then fall to the ground. My best pumpkin over 300ott is on the plant.I fear this is starting to spread to the 845 bobier it now has soft spots near the stump. The cool wet weather has turned hot. 90 the last two days.

George I took mine to Rutgers university ag center....But I'll tell you this the fresher the sample the better...don't wait till season end by then secondary infections make it impossible to tell which was the real culprit...sample of everything root vine leaf fruit...good luck...Chuck

George, Chuck is right. Get fresh plant material to the "Plant Pathology Lab" at the following asap.

http://www.ag.uiuc.edu/iaes.html#three

You might need to make a couple phone calls to find the correct office. There is usually no charge for non commercial parties/residents.

Good luck

Steve
